My name is b Rudy Stork, Ms Clottie was my second mother from birth till I was around 15 yrs old. I was I my grandfather's Dry cleaners most everyday during those years and Miss Clotte treated me like her own child. She would always tell me stories about days past and never was short with good advice. She was my friend/ family I would always run down to the pantry store and get her and Mary a cold v drink, and doing so I would pass in front of Shullers plumbing, where a gentleman, I use the term loosely as miss Clottie often described him as a no-good drunken fool! His name was Leroy, he had a powerful crush as I saw it on miss Clottie as every time I walked by he would stop me and ask 1, Rudy, is that lady Clottie down there today? Which was always yes she's there, then he'd ask sheepishly if I ever hear her talk about him? Well this is where I would have a little fun with both of them, I wouldn't ever say what she would be saying about him, in fact I said the opposite. I'd say Mr Leroy your all she talks about! I don't know what you've said or done to impress her but she sure is all about some Leroy! How he's a good working man, skilled trade, and mad she says how strong you must be looking at ya and how she just though you were so manly when you smoked your cigar! Leroy hing on to every word. Then I'd get back to miss Clottie and start with her, only she wasn't the least bit with it, and she absolutely hated that cigar! And Leroy never let me down cause come closing time he would appear just outside and having lit that half a cigar up for the 5th or 6th time that day puffing proudly hoping to impress, but miss clotties thought about what that cigar stub he always chewed on reminded her of was not very complimentary. Ms Clottie will always in my heart, she was the very best of a generation long gone now, love you Ms Clottie!
