Obituary For Cormelitha Butler

CROWLEY – Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at St. Joseph Baptist Church, 1262 W. Hutchinson Ave., Crowley, LA for Mrs. Cormelitha Butler, 57, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 in Austin, TX. Interment will be in West Crowley Cemetery.

Rev. Trent, Pastor of St. Joseph Baptist Church, will be officiating the funeral service.

Mrs. Butler’s memories are being cherished by: her husband, Lawrence Butler; her mother, Ruth Hawkins of Crowley, LA; four sons, Denzel (Kelsey) Faulk, Javontrae Freeman and Justin Wilson, all of Austin, TX; one step daughter, Letresa Berry (Edward) of Austin, TX; one sister, Twinkle Tezeno of Crowley, LA; eleven grandchildren; her Godchild, A’liayah Arceneaux of Crowley, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mrs. Butler is preceded in death by: her father, Charlie Hawkins, Sr.; one brother, Charlie Hawkins, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Issac and Beatrice Thorns; her nephew/God child, Daniel Tezeno, Jr.; and her step sister, Charlene Drake.

Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at St. Joseph Baptist Church.
