I went to school with Billy from Jr. High on up. When my granddaughter was playing basketball at the Rec., I always looked forward to seeing Billy as we entered the gym. Everyone will remember his smile and his friendly personality. I'll be looking for that smile in heaven one day. - Greg Shackelford

Coach Billy was my little league football coach for several years in the late 80s. We won the local Kiwanis Bowl together on at least one occasion (an unforgettable experience for a 12-year-old). As I grew older, Coach always remembered my name when we ran into each other and he always said hello to me. - Chick

Big Bill was a fixture for me, growing up as a kid watching him play for the Trojans, working with him at the Rec Dept, playing for him as a coach or just in passing at the Trojan game (in front of the gym, always) he treated me as a friend and it always brought a smile. Love me "77" RIP

I loved Billy, but we all did. Some of the funniest times were spent at CRPD events. Like when Kenneth didn't have anymore timeouts & hollered, "Billy, call a time out cause I need one & don't have any."

Billy coached me in both 9-10 and 11-12 football. He truly cared about us and taught a generation what it means to be Trojans. Through the years he continued to be a legend, a friend and an icon in the community...always smiling and keeping us on our toes! He will be missed terribly. P Tuggle
