Carolene D. Sturdivant was born on July 24, 1954 in Guilford County, North Carolina. She departed this life on September 16, 2023 at Atrium Health-Cabarrus, Concord, North Carolina.

Carolene attended the public schools of Stanly County.

Carolene was a loving, caring and protective mother and grandmother that loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She loved to fish and plant flowers.

Carolene was preceded in death by her mother, Aggie M. Davis, father, Clayton Davis Sr., her daughter and brother, Wallace Davis.

Carolene leaves to cherish memories her children: Tomika Davis of Oakboro, North Carolina, Mann Sturdivant (Jenn) of Albemarle, North Carolina, Pie Sturdivant (Shannon) of Concord, North Carolina, Shanna Sturdivant (Chris) of Mount Holly, North Carolina and Antonio Sturdivant (Lindsey) of Albemarle, North Carolina. A host of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Carolene also leaves to cherish her memories, one brother, Clayton Davis Jr. of Oakboro, North Carolina, two sisters, Melody Davis of Albemarle, North Carolina and Katrina Davis of Oakboro, North Carolina. A host of nieces and nephews.

Six special friends, Undrey Bost and Audrey Little both of Oakboro, North Carolina, Deborah Sturdivant of Charlotte, North Carolina, Lisa Caple of Albemarle, North Carolina, Melissa Moore of Albemarle, North Carolina and Rick Colston of New London, North Carolina, a host of cousins, relatives and friends.

A special THANK YOU to Carolene’s youngest sister, Katrina Davis, for being a rock during hard times. Thank you for being a phenomenal sister!

The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, September 23, 2023, 11:00am, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in Oakboro Cemetery, Oakboro, North Carolina.

The Sturdivant will greet family and friends on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 10:30-11:00am at Smith's Memorial Chapel.
