Obituary For Annette Myers

Annette Myers, 80, of Mountain Valley Rd., Axton, VA departed from this life Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at SOVAH Health Martinsville, VA. She was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on August 8, 1943, the daughter of Ressie Tarpley Keen and the late George Keen.

In addition to her father, Annette was preceded in death by one sister, Patrola Freeman.

Annette was a faithful member of Mountain Valley Baptist Church she served in a variety of capacities. She was the church Secretary, sang with the Choir, and Sunday School. For a number of years, Annette was employed by the Tultex Corporation, and later retired from Nautica after many years of service. She was a graduate of Northside High School, Gretna, VA.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of over fifty years, Hollie C. Myers of the home; her mother, Ressie Tarpley Keen of Callands, VA; three sons, Holly B. Myers (Edna) of Stafford, VA, Corey W. Myers (Robin) of Fayetteville, NC, and Gregory L. Myers (Cathy) of Martinsville, VA; ten grandchildren; four brothers, George Keen, Jr. (Betty), James M. Keen, and Ronnie Keen (Loveleen) all of Danville, VA, and Claude Keen of Martinsville, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation service will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville with Pastor John Breedlove, Eulogist. The burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park, 103 Clearview Dr., Martinsville, VA. A public viewing will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the residence, 8933 Mountain Valley Rd., Axton, VA.
