Ms. Arizonia Dix, 95, of Hurtsboro, AL passed Sunday, September 10, 2023 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held 4:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Mt. Missouri Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Carlisle, pastor, officiating and Rev. David Dawson, eulogist. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is Friday, September 15, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. EST.
Ms. Arizonia Dix was born on Saturday, November 26, 1927 in Rutherford, AL, to the late Virginia Dix and the late Moses Dix.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and singing her favorite hymns throughout the day. She was a God fearing, strong-minded, fashionable, and person of unity.
Ms. Arizonia Dix, accepted Christ as her personal Savior and joined Mt. Missouri Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a Usher, Ward Leader, Choir member, Sunday School Teacher, also a part of the Kitchen and Cleaning Committee.
She was employed with Fieldcrest Cannon, Inc. Columbus, GA for over 20 years until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers, Ruby Boyd, Omarell Dix, Marvin Dix, Leon Dix, Jessie Dix, Rufus Dix and Willie Lee Dix; three children, Martha Ann Dix, Walter Dix and Andrew Dix (Joyce).
She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Doris Dix Amerson of Hurtsboro, AL and Virginia Jones (Stanley) of Holiday, FL; three sons, Martin Dix (Michelle) of Gary, IN, Leon Dix of Clearwater, FL and James Dix (Doris) of Springhill, AL; adopted son, Quenton Dix of Conway, SC; and raised Yemisi Dix-Miles (Michael) of Phenix City, AL, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
