Obituary For William L. Law

On Friday, September 8, 2023, William L. Law, 78, of Bob Gregory St., Martinsville, transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia on May 13, 1945, the son of George Law and Edith Jamison Law who preceded him in death.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Galloway Law; one sister, Mae Lois Florence, and one brother, Edward Law.

William was a devoted member of Mt. Olivet Apostolic church. He retired from Tultex after many years of service. He was a graduate of Southside High School, Blairs, VA.

Those left to cherish his memory include three sons, William J. Law (Sherica), Kem L. Law (LaKeisha), and Marco J. Law all of Martinsville, VA; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six sisters, Clara Law, Sandra Law, and Nancy Estes all of Martinsville, VA, Frances Shufford of Cascade, VA, Mae Sparrow, and Lydia Conley both of Columbus, OH; three brothers, Horace Shufford of Philadelphia, PA, Charles Shufford and John Shufford both of Las Vegas, NV; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon at Mt. Olivet Apostolic Church, 8770 A.L. Philpott Hwy, Martinsville, VA with Bishop Jack Thompson, Eulogist. The burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 1310 Carver Rd., Martinsville. A public viewing will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home 919 Bob Gregory St., Martinsville.
