Sterlyn Tracy “Mr. Furly” Weston, 56, passed on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.

Funeral service 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2023 at Friendship Baptist Church, 13943 Hwy 64 Alt West, Rocky Mount, NC 27801 with Pastor Arthur Vincent, officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Gethsemane.

Visitation 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Hunter-Odom Funeral Service, 121 S. Fairview Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27801.

Service will be Live Stream via Hunter-Odom Funeral Service website.

What I will remember about Sterlyn is that he would always put a smile on my face when I was having a bad day. Whether it was giving you advice, singing you a song, or cooking for you, he knew what to do. It's still shocking to hear about his passing as each day goes by. Even though we were not ready to see him go, it was his time to enter the gates of Heaven. We may not see him in physical form but his spirit will continue to live in all of us as we remember those specials times with him that we will never forget. My prayers go to Sterlyn's family and friends during this difficult time. Rest In Peace Sterlyn You are missed. - Amber B

Sterlyn this is hard to believe . I miss seeing you on your porch when i come outside. I thank you for all the times you would come over and say what you want me to bring you to eat today? When you would leave you would always say i Love you have a good evening. i would say i love you too and you have a good evening as well .You could sing as well as dance. i know you are at that meeting in Heaven now. rest in peace until we meet again.

To the family of Sterling Weston, I offer my deepest sympathy. I pray peace, strength and comfort for the family and good friends. Sterling was the best brother-in-law I could have wanted. Rick and family, Ron and I are so sorry Sterlyn has passed away. He left this life too soon but we believe heaven is a better place and we will see him again. He was a good guy. Always so happy and he could really sing. We were blessed to have known him. H

Sterlyn, you will be truly missed. Knowing you from working with my husband at K&W, then becoming my moms neighbor and singing at my wedding. I was so honored and grateful for you. You encouraged me the day of my wedding just telling me how beautiful I looked and don't be nervous. You sitting outside signing and dancing when I pull in the neighborhood will be missed tremendously. Thank you for the love you had for my family especially my mother.
