Obituary For Joseph Benjamin Person

Joseph Benjamin Person, age 82, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2023, at home in Knoxville with family by his side. He was the fourth child born to James B. and Annie B. Person on November 9, 1941 in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Preceded in death by parents Annie B. and James B. Person; brothers Flenor Person and Edd (Eddie) L. Person. He leaves to cherish his memories children: Craig Person of Muskegon, MI, Stephanie Person of Nashville, TN and Philippe Person of Ooltewah, TN; brother James (Joyce) Person; sisters Florence (Carl) Frederick, Elizabeth (William) Kennedy, Marion Sheck, Lillie McGhee, Ethel Mae Scott, Alberta Hines, Mary Helen Tiller, and Queen Wiggins; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and dedicated friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 10:30-11:00 a.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Harold Middlebrook officiating.

The final resting place will be at the East TN Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier) where full military honors and dove release will conclude.
