Obituary For Mrs. Elizabeth Carpenter

Elizabeth G. Carpenter was born on November 23. 1923. She was preceded in death by her husband, Broaden Carpenter; brother, Wilbur Hall; children, Barbara J. Robinson, Loretta Atkins, Carole Robinson, and Roger Robinson; grandchildren, Renee Robinson, Dennis Atkins, and Gary Atkins.

Elizabeth was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many. She served as a missionary, choir member, and mother of the church at Word of Life Tabernacle, High Point, NC, led by Pastor Dr. Ronald L. Diggs. Elizabeth's warm and caring nature was always on full display. Moreover, her compassion was not limited to her religious commitments, as she would go above and beyond to provide transportation to anyone who needed a ride to church; she would do her best to accommodate as many people as she could in her car. She remained steadfast in her faith and character throughout her life. She served as a shining example of a prayer warrior and believer, inspiring those around her to emulate her virtuous ways.

She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Bennie J. Robinson (Juanell), and two daughters, Sharon Glenn (Samuel) and Kim Carpenter; grandchildren, Darrell Robinson, Derrick Atkins, Denise Atkins, Traci Robinson-Ali, Val J. Robinson, Robin Robinson-Stevens (Hakim), Brielle Holmes, Shawn M. Ellison, Yolanda Ellison, Harold Smith; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Word of Life Tabernacle Church, 1801 Deep River Road, High Point, NC.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

Mother Carpenter was a rare precious jewel, light and salt to Word of Life Tabernacle and everyone that graced her presence. When I entered the Sanctuary she always had a smile, an encouraging word for me and then she would put her head back in her Bible. Her presence is missed already. Mrs. Elizabeth Carpenter has finished her course in this life. She was a prime example of Beauty, Strength and Commitment both inwardly and outwardly. Her commitment to walk into Sunday morning services without assistance was an inspiration to us. She is and will be missed but she is now at a home not made by hands.
