MOTHER MINNIE LEE AUSTIN JACKSON – Age 93, of Dalton, Georgia passed away Friday, September 1, 2023. She was born March 30, 1930 to her late parents, Leon Chaney, Sr. and Allie Bell Austin Chaney. She was preceded by her husband, John Jackson, two sons, Charles Wofford, John Aikens, sisters, Catherine Saunders, Juanita Chaney, Elizabeth Greene, Jannie Mae Hawkins, brothers, Hezekiah Austin and Leon Chaney, Jr. Mother Jackson was a faithful member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving and devoted children, Elder Terry (Ann) Aikens, James (Cheryl) Wofford, Jr., Earline Wofford, Frank Wofford, Peggy (Aaron) Burse, Chandlin Johnson; eleven grandchildren, five great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 1:00 P. M. at Hopewell Baptist Church, 3527 Airport Rd, Dalton, GA 30721, with Elder Windell Smith, Eulogist and Minister Frank Weaver, Jr., Presider. Her remains will lie in state on Friday after 11:00 A. M. at the funeral home. Interment; United Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home, Inc.
