Obituary For Ms. Betty LouJean Cuthrell

Ms. Betty LouJean Cuthrell was born on March 15, 1957, to the late Robert Lee Cuthrell and the late Hattie Rebecca Allison Cuthrell in Davidson County, North Carolina. She departed this life on August 29, 203 at her home in Mount Gilead, North Carolina surrounded by her loving family.

Betty attended the public schools of Montgomery County. She was a graduate of West Montgomery High School, Class of 1976. Betty was a loving and caring person, that loved to dance and have a good time with her family and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, Leeward Junior Cuthrell; her brothers, Edward Lee Cuthrell and George Albert Cuthrell; her sisters, Priscilla Cuthrell Collins and Rebecca Cuthrell Bowden.

Betty leaves to cherish her loving memories, her daughter: Tina Carpenter of Liberty, North Carolina (son-in-law, Carlos Carpenter of Troy, North Carolina); four grandsons, Carlos Carpenter, Montarious Carpenter, Datarious Carpenter, Jatarious Carpenter all of Liberty, North Carolina; nine great-grandchildren: Jayden, Makenslee, Mariah, Torrance, Skailynn, Carsyn, Adalynn, Del’vir, Ky’Xer; four step sons, Rex McBride, Robert (Celeste) Hough, Patrick (Daisa) Hough and Michael Robinson; one step grandson, Keshawn McBride; two step granddaughters, Taikera McBride and Nashia McBride.

One brother, Vernon Ike Cuthrell of Florida; two sisters, Lillie Mae Holden (Jimmy) of Raleigh, North Carolina and Dorothy Cuthrell of Asheboro, North Carolina. one brother-in-law, Ralph Collins; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Lee Cuthrell and Francis Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, September 9, 2023, 3:30pm, Snow Hill Bapitst Church, Mount Gilead, North Carolina. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Mount Gilead, North Carolina.

The Cuthrell Family will greet family and friends on Saturday, September 9, 2023, 3:00pm, Snow Hill Baptist Church and all other times at the family residence.

The public viewing will be on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 2:00-5:00pm at Smith Funeral Home.

I rode the school bus with Betty all through school. She was so much fun and treated everyone with respect. We had so much fun back in those days. I ran into Betty from time to time, always the same carefree gal she was in school. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family because I know you will miss her happy self. God bless you all.
