The Reverend Joseph McCalister, of Marianna, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Friday, August 18, 2023, in Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama.
Reverend McCalister was a member of the Holy Neck Missionary Baptist Church. To know him was to love him.
Homegoing Celebration of Life services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM from the sanctuary of Second West Florida Missionary Baptist Association located at 4110 Herring Avenue in Marianna, Florida 32448.
Interment will be in the Holy Neck Church Cemetery in Marianna, Florida.
Reverend McCalister will lie in repose at the church from 10:00 AM until time for the service.
A public viewing will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Vann Funeral Home.
He leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond, yet precious memories, a loving and devoted family:

Nineteen grandchildren, One Great Grandchild and a host of special nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

He was a kind and Godly man. I used to hang out at his house and play video game with Reggie. He even officiated my wedding. Some of my fondest childhood memories was at this man's house and for that I will always be grateful.
