Obituary For Anna Bell Wolsey

Anna Bell Wolsey, 94 of Bowie, TX, passed from the cares of this life to the glory of Heaven and to the loving arms of her family on Thursday, August 17th, 2023.


Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday August 20th, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.


Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 21st, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Bowie.


Burial will follow at Salona Cemetery.


Anna Bell was born to Herman and Minnie (Greschel) Unger on March 25,1929 in Margaret, Texas. Along with her family, she moved to Bowie in 1943 and became an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.


Anna Bell married Frank T. Wolsey on December 20, 1953, and was blessed with 54 years of marriage.


Anna Bell began working as a telephone operator in 1947 for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. In 1957 Anna Bell and Frank opened and operated their family grocery business (Wolsey's Quickway Grocery) for 47 years. ln 2015 Anna Bell was honored as a Jim Bowie Days Pioneer Duchess. Anna Bell was a gifted seamstress, quilter, and cook.


Anna Bell was a devoted wife, loving Mother, and committed Christian. She lived her life with integrity, and an attitude of hard work in whatever she was doing.


Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Curtis Lynn Wolsey; granddaughter, Stacy Ellington; 8 brothers; and 3 sisters.


Anna Bell is survived by her children, Vicki Wolsey and husband Robert Johnston, Scott Wolsey and wife Billie, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Wolsey, all of Bowie; grandchildren, Kristal Sutton and Randy Milligan, Chad Wolsey and wife Jennifer, Chris Wolsey and Kelsey McGuill, Chase Wolsey and wife Cassandra, Petie Wolsey and Morgan Wolsey, all of Bowie, Jamie Jackson and husband Todd of Frisco, Philip Hood of San Angelo; great grandchildren, Ralie and Kennedi Sutton, Caden and Lucas Wolsey, Corben and Karter Wolsey, Jaylee, Kingston, Gunner, Josaphine, Hollyn and Norah Wolsey, all of Bowie, Ty Compton and Emily Jackson of Frisco; Haven Hood of San Angelo; brother Donald Ray Unger of Bowie; sisters-in-law, Carrol Unger of Odessa, Maxine Wolsey of Bowie; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers are Chad Wolsey, Chris Wolsey, Chase Wolsey, Philip Hood, Robert Johnston, Brent Husfeld, Randy Milligan, and Chad Duvall.


Memorials can be given to St. Peter Lutheran Church at P.O. Box 133, Bowie, TX 76230 or any charity of choice.
