Ala “Louise” Edgin Reaves, 82,of Bowie, TX, went home to be with the Lord on July 19, 2023 in Bowie, Texas.

Funeral services will take place at 10:00 am Friday, July 21, 2023, at Carter Lake Baptist Church in Bowie, with Pastor Chris Osborne officiating.

Burial will follow at Brushy Cemetery in Bowie.

Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, contributions maybe sent to Carter Lake Baptist Church,4759 FM 1125, Bowie, Texas 76230.

Louise was born May 30, 1941 in Bowie, TX to E.L. Edgin Jr. and Betty Jo Gilbreath Edgin. On October 26, 1968, Louise married Bill Reaves in Bowie, TX. She had a lifelong career as the secretary for the superintendent of Bowie I.S.D. and retired with 48 years of service to the school. Louise was an avid member of the Carter Lake Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill Reaves, and infant daughter, Leaha Reaves.

Louise is survived by her children, Jaret Reaves and wife Lisa of Gainesville, TX; Elizabeth Hale of Garland, TX, and Rebecca Brooks and husband Kevin of Bowie; grandchildren, Kenlea Reaves, Macey Reaves, Shane Hale and wife Julia, Cassiopeia Beasley and husband Vester, Kolton Brooks and wife Sadi, Krista Brooks, and Kevin Clay Brooks and wife Mercedes; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Herbert Reaves of Bowie and George A. Reaves of San Angelo, TX; sister-in-law, Emma Mae Large of Bowie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
