Obituary For Paul S. Wimbush

On Tuesday, July 11, 2023, Paul Samson Wimbush, 64, of Martinsville, VA, transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life. He was born September 6, 1958, in Virginia the son of Paul Menefee, and Annie Lee Hairston who preceded him in death.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by one son, Anthony Wimbush, and one brother, Claude Wimbush.

Paul was a graduate of Bassett High School, and he attended Greater Love Ministries. He was also a member of the Eastside Cruisers car club.

Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, Jermaine Hairston of Washington, DC, and Paul Brandon Wimbush of Martinsville, VA; two daughters, Ericka Cannon of Eden, NC, and Jasmine Green (Aaron) of Salem, VA; twelve grandchildren; two sisters, Lisa Wells of Bassett, VA, and Vanessa Hairston of Collinsville, VA; one brother, Johnny Wells of Martinsville, VA; and a host of other relatives, and friends.

A visitation service will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon at Greater Love Ministries, 906 E. Church St., Martinsville, VA, with Reverend Junior Wimbush, Eulogist. The burial will follow at the Wimbush Family Cemetery, 2639 Pilson Sawmill Rd., Stuart, VA. A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other Times, the family will be receiving friends at 661 Jones Ridge Rd., Axton, VA between the hours of 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Paul was the greatest neighbor anyone could ever ask for. Anytime he would see me, the first thing he would ask was how was my mother doing.
