OBITUARY:
James Earl Powell was born to the late Will Powell and Izola Lucas Powell. James was born and raised in Crystal Springs, MS on November 4, 1941. He was united in Holy Matrimony to the Late Marie Green Powell until her death.
After migrating to Jackson, MS, James flourished in his passion for Auto Body Repair in which he worked as a Certified Master Auto Repairman with Powell Body Shop over 48 years.
Along his journey, he joined Corner Stone Baptist Church. Along this journey, James met a devoted spouse Linda which they've shared 40 plus years. In the union two children were born; Suzettia(Quinton) and Jasmine(Jermaine). 3 Daughters: Janice Powell, Sharlette Shorter, Jamilyn Morgan and Laquicia Phillips. He was proceeded in death by one son Jessie Powell; grandson Adrienne Dent; five brothers Thomas Powell, Sr., Lennelle Powell, Walter Powell, Andrew Powell and Willie Powell,; three sisters, Zeola Powell, Ethel Powell and Willie Mae Hodges. He leaves to cherish three sisters, Margaret Powell, Beola Powell and Willie B. Terry; 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; 1 god daughter(Nicole Keys), 1 god grandson(Jamarian Booth) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
