Obituary For Samantha Marie Thornton

Ms. Samantha Thornton, 58, of Phenix City, AL passed Thursday, July 6, 2023 in Phenix City, AL.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. EST, Wednesday, July 12, 2023 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bishop Levon Jakes, officiating. Visitation is Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 10-2 p.m. EST.

Ms. Samatha Maria Thornton “Quicksand” was born April 30, 1965 in Muscogee County, GA to the late Rev. Arthur C. Thornton and the late Virginia Johnson.

Samantha accepted Christ at an early age and was a graduate of Central High School class of 1984.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Johnson; father, Rev. Arthur C. Thornton; grandmother, Fannie Mae Olgetree and sister, Grader Mitchell.

She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Virginia Thornton and Brianna Thornton, both of Phenix City, AL; four grandchildren, Ny'Kerria Thornton, Landon Phillips, Alijah Allen and A'Marion Thornton; sisters, Chasade (Dank) Bass of Phenix City, AL and Nicole (Kevin) Spears of Lithonia, GA; brother, Curtis (Lisa) Thornton of Columbus, GA; two special friends, Frances Lamb and Marvin Stallings; two aunts, Shirlyn Dewhart and Katherine (Mike) Turner; two uncles, Curtis (Cynthia) Ogletree and Joseph Ogletree a host of nieces, nephews, cousins family and friends.
