Obituary For Darrell Spencer

Greensboro - Mr. Darrell Spencer, 57, passed away, Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 at 12 Noon from the Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home, 909 East Market Street Greensboro, North Carolina. The family visitation will begin at 11:30 am and the service will follow at Noon. The interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Greensboro, NC.

Public viewing and visitation will take place on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 5 - 7 pm at Greater Morning Star Church, 705 S. Sycamore Street, Fremont, NC 27830.

Darrell “Spen” Spencer is the son of Beatrice Elliott Spencer. He was born in Brooklyn, New York at Kings County Hospital on November 18, 1965. Darrell gained his wings on Wednesday, June 28 at 6:30 pm at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.

Darrell graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School. He then attended North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University. Throughout the years, Darrell worked as a Forklift Operator for most of his working career at KMART Distribution Center and other companies. He was also the Owner and Manager of his own company, Oil on the Spot. Most recently he was employed with Mohawk ESV Industries as a Press Operator.

Surviving to cherish Darrell’s greatest memories is his mother: Beatrice Elliott Spencer of Fremont, NC. His four children: Ebony Spencer, Bria Spencer, Mercedes Spencer, and Darrell Roberts all of Greensboro, NC. He has one grandchild: Breion Maxwell. One brother: Alvin Elliott (Cynthia) of Greensboro, NC and two sisters: Vivian Bridges (Keith) of Fremont, NC and Tammy Spencer Jacobs (Johnny) of Carrboro, NC and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.

Darrell enjoyed watching a good sports game but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was loved by many.

Revelation 21:4, "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
