On Saturday June 24, 2023, Minister Annie Mae Gravely 76 of Blue Knob Rd., Martinsville transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at her residence. She was born January 25, 1947, in Virginia to Thomas Richard Gravely, and Virginia Pearl Martin Gravely who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathlene Hairston, and Doretha Starling, and two brothers, Raymond L. Gravely, and Richard A. Gravely.
Annie was a faithful member of Gethsemane Pentecostal Holiness Church where she served as a Minister, and Sunday School. She retired from Fieldcrest Mills after many years of service. She was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School class of 1965.
Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Dwayne Gravely (Renia) of Martinsville, VA; one granddaughter, Chenika L. Gravely of Winston Salem, NC; three brothers, Sherman W. Gravely, John C. Gravely (Patricia), and Harry J. Gravely (Jackie) all of Axton, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A visitation service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. at Refuge Temple Ministries, 205 Clearview Dr., Martinsville with Bishop Gordon Warren, Eulogist. The burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, Martinsville. A public viewing will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at their home, 504 Blue Knob Rd., Martinsville between the hours of 4 p.m. till 8 p.m.
