Mr. Richard Aldine Robinson, Jr., passed away at his residence. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023 12 pm Cassie Coote-Brown Memorial Chapel at Perry J. Brown Funeral Home 909 East Market Street Greensboro, North Carolina. 11:30 am Visitation. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park 6000 Gate City Boulevard Greensboro, North Carolina.
Richard Aldine Robinson, Jr., aged 74, passed away peacefully on the morning of Thursday, June 15, 2023, at his home. He was born to the late Richard A. Robinson, Sr. and the late Georgiana W. Robinson. Richard was educated in the Greensboro City School System and completed his studies at James B. Dudley High School, graduating as a member of the class of 1966. After completing high school, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country for four years. He decided to further his education at Jefferson College where he graduated in 1976. For over forty years he was employed at the United States Postal Service Bulk Mail Center. Following his retirement, he committed himself full-time to running his landscaping business. His favorite pastimes were cooking and spending time with his family, especially his three grandsons. At an early age he joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Greensboro and later attended Genesis Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Cassell M. Waldrum; his sister: Gloria W. Walls; and his nephews: Anthony and Paul Walls. He also lost the love of his life of 47 years, Linnell Hughes Robinson, in 2019.
His legacy of love will be continued by his daughters: Tonya R. Robinson (Shawn, Sr.) and Denise Robinson; his three grandchildren: Jailen Robinson, Shawn Moore, Jr. and Jaquan Moore; his sisters: Dorothy M. Robinson and Jacqueline McDowell; his mother-in-law: Earnestine Wiseman Hughes; his sisters-in-law: Nora White, Brenda Hughes, Lorraine Hughes (Ron), and Bonnie Smoot; his brother-inlaw: James Field; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and also his very special fur baby Jax.
