Mr. Deyon Cortez “Dee Dee” Wade, Jr., 22, of Phenix City, AL passed Thursday, June 15, 2023 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Bethel A.M.E. Church, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Brandon Thornton, pastor, officiating and Rev. Felix Worthen, eulogist. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Friday, June 23, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. EST.
Deyon was born, May 16, 2001 to Tonya Elias and the late Deyon Cortez Wade, Sr. in Columbus, GA.
He attended Ridgecrest Elementary, South Girard Junior High School and was a 2019 graduate of Central High School.
He confessed his faith in God at an early age and united with the Bethel A.M.E. Church under the leadership of Rev. Jesse L. Grooms.
As a teenager, Deyon, also affectionally known as “Dee Dee” and “T.I.” to many, developed a passion for ATV's, race cars and fishing.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Deyon C. Wade, Sr.; two great grandmothers, Ruth Ray and Mary Wade; great grandfather, Frank Ray and one great aunt, Sharon Calloway.
The memories of Deyon’s joyful and loving spirit will be cherished by his loving mother, Tonya (Steve) Elias of Phenix City, AL; a beautiful and loving daughter, Dream Wade of Columbus, GA; five brothers, Anthony Ray "AT", Juavon Williams “Red”, Quantarius Allen "Quan", Courtney Elias “C-Redd”, Steven Elias "Man-Man" all of Phenix City, AL, and Karter Wade of Fairburn, GA; three sisters, Alexis Wade of Phenix City, AL, ShaQuantais Wade of Eufaula, AL and Taylor Durrah of Fairburn, GA; two grandmothers, Gaynell Dowdell of Opelika, AL and Jean Wade of Phenix City, AL; special nieces and nephews, JaKobi Wade, Ariane Wade, Kayson Ray, Legend Ray and Makayla Elias all of Phenix City, AL; four uncles, Tommy (Tara) Wade, Ben Wade, Ernest Wade, all of Phenix City, AL and Edward Kirk of Opelika, AL; four aunts, Calandra Collier, Lavonia Lynn of Opelika, AL, Revonia Lynn of Atlanta, GA and Santosha (Anthony) Lockhart of Phenix City, AL; three great aunts, Jean Ray of Buffalo NY, Dorothy Askew of Opelika, AL and Mary McBride of Columbus, OH; two great uncles, Nathaniel Ray of Buffalo, NY and Lewis Wade of Phenix City, AL; special friends, Tanyka Washington, Tytiana Alexander, D’Angelo Davis, Demetrius Pettway, DeMarkus Lamp and Trevon Miller. Deyon’s love for life will also be cherished by a host of other relatives and friends.
