Obituary For Howard Prather

HOWARD “PIGGY” PRATHER was born to the late Charlie H. Broadnax, Sr. and the late Mary Helen Galloway Thomas in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

He received his formal education in the Harrisburg School District and during his working career, he worked in food service.

In his leisure, Piggy, as he was affectionately called, enjoyed music, doing puzzles and interacting with friends and family.

At his home in Steelton, Pennsylvania, Howard Piggy Prather, at the age of 65, passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Friday, June 9, 2023.

He leaves to celebrate his life; his two daughters, Nia Lloyd of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Dorothy Washington of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania; his sister, Thelma L. Williams of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his two brothers, Donald Prather of Mesa, Arizona and Charlie H. Broadnax, Jr. of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his four grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Howard's life will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing and visitation 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
