Obituary For Raymond Earl Atkins, Sr.

Raymond E. Atkins, Sr., 93, of Henrico, died June14, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura E. Atkins. Surviving are his daughter, Veronica Atkins; three sons, Larry, Julius (Crystal) and Raymond Jr. (Jeanette) Atkins; 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; two brothers, Thomas and Obidiah (Lois) Atkins; four sisters, Nellie Turpin, Shirley Wells, Shelia Cotman and Wilhelmina Greene (James); host of nieces and nephews, devoted Bernard and Carolyn Silver; other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where viewing will be held Tuesday, June 20 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 21 at Scott's Chapel, 116 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Dr. Ray McKenzie, officiating. Interment Washington Memorial Park. Live streaming at www.scottsfuneralhome.com.

I'm offering my condolences to The Atkins family, Raymond would Always see me at Horizon Store and say Girl you still working and I would say I'm laid off again and he would say when they call you back GO, and don't give up, and I didn't, Been on my job 29 years now, I owe a lot of that to him.
