Funeral services for Beverly Pearson, 70, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2023, at Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church, 201 South 4th Street, Opelika, AL, 36801 with interment in Camp Hill Cemetery, 12900 Senator Claude Pepper Drive, Camp Hill, AL 36850, Reverend Anthony Pogue will officiate.
Ms. Pearson, who passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023 at her home in Opelika, Alabama, was born August 28, 1952 in Tallapoosa County, Alabama.
“Bev”, as she was affectionately known by family and friends, was an Edward Bell High School Class of 1971 graduate. Upon graduation, she went to Job Corp in Oregon, after completing that program she was employed with Russell Mill in Alexander City, Alabama. Later, she decided to move to Opelika, where she gained employment with Tab Textile and later West Point Pepperrell. She was an outstanding cook which led her to use those skills at several restaurants in the area. Beverly was a well-rounded caregiver and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Public viewing will be Thursday, June 8, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory: eight children, Latiler (Coy) Strickland, Anquniter (Foy) Tinsley, Stacey Roberson, Demetrice (Carvarnos) Watts all of Opelika, AL, Ashley Crowell of Columbus, GA, Beverly Heard of Auburn, AL, Lawrence (Vonda) Heard of Dallas, GA and Larry Dewayne Evans of Camp Hill, AL; twenty-six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lillie D. Peterson of Opelika, AL, Maggie (Daniel) Gross, Myrtis Tinsley both of Camp Hill, AL and Geraldine Shelley of Auburn, AL; six brothers, Larry Peterson, Gary (Elaine) Gunn both of Opelika, AL, James (Angela) Pearson of Tallassee, AL, Ernest (Johnie Mae) Shealey of Atlanta, GA, Orythus (Bessie) Burton and Roosevelt (Geraldine) Shealey both of Camp Hill, AL; two special friends, Patricia Callaway and Cynthia Echols both of Opelika, AL; a host of other relatives and friends.
