Obituary For Lillie Crawford

Ms. Lillie Bell Crawford, 72, of Phenix City, AL passed Friday, June 2, 2023 in Phenix City, AL.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. EST Saturday, June 10, 2023 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Sunita Williams, officiating. Burial to follow in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery, Eufaula, AL (Contton Community). Visitation is Friday, June 9, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. EST.

A Time to be Born: Lillie Bell Crawford was born August 24, 1950, to the late Geneva Crawford and John Roland Barnes, Sr. She was the second of five children born to her mother.

A Time to Grow: Lillie grew up in the Cottonton, Alabama community and later moved to Phenix City, Alabama. She was educated in the Russell County School System, graduating from the Pittsview High School.

A Time to Work: Lillie was a hard worker and great provider for her family. She worked at the Bibb Manufacturing Company in Columbus, Georgia until the plant closed. She then became employed by the Canterbury Nursing Home in Phenix City, Alabama. She worked there until her health failed.

A Time to Serve: Lillie was converted at an early age and joined the County Line Baptist Church in Eufaula, Alabama. She later moved her membership to the Shiloh Baptist Church in Pittsview, Alabama, where she served faithfully on the Ushers’ Board until her health failed. She was a born-again Christian and boldly confessed her faith in God.

A Time to Transition from Earth to Immortality: Lillie transitioned from her earthly toils to her heavenly home on Friday, June 2, 2023.

A Time to Remember: Lillie will be fondly remembered by a mother-in-love, Essie B. Barnes; two loving and devoted children, Derrick (Sandrea) Crawford, Sr. and Lolita Crawford; six sisters, Anna (Johnny) Mahone, Patricia (John) Ezell, Gwendolyn (Clarence) Gordey, Charlene Edmonds, Jacqueline (Larry) Screws, and Kathleen (Herman) Mitchell; three brothers, Charlie Crawford, John (Arleshia) Barnes, and Kenneth (Crystal) Barnes; one aunt, Annie Ruth Perry; one uncle, Eliston β€œJimmy” Perry; nine grandchildren, Jamia Wise, Martavious Capers, Jamya Deloney, Jamel Wise, Aureyanna Johnson, Janassia Wise, Javencia Johnson, Maurice Warner, Jr., and Derrick Crawford, Jr.; one great grandchild, Jamir Reed; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
