Obituary For James M. Jackson

Mr. James M. Jackson peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on May 30, 2023. James was born on July 29, 1936 in Montgomery, AL to Bill Jackson and Rose Taylor.

He received his education from the Montgomery County School System. He was a faithful and dedicated employee of Aronov Realty for more than 50 years and continued to work until his health failed.

James had a zest for life. He loved attending the Kentucky Derby with family and friends. He was an avid Alabama football fan. He considered himself a jack of all trades and master of many. He enjoyed life and was known for his kindness, warmth, generosity and care of his family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, four siblings and wife Mamie Jackson.

He leaves to mourn and treasure his memories: three daughters, Cynthia (Freddie) Dobyne of Deatsville, AL, Elizabeth Mangum, Loretta Thomas of Montgomery, AL; two sons, Michael Jackson of Montgomery, AL and Vincent Jackson of Montgomery, Al; ten grandchildren, Bryan Dobyne, Chrysanthus Chukwuma, Jr., Demetrius (Adamma) Jackson, Jeaneen Dobyne Crosby, Wanda Ott, Jeffery (Tanyasha) Dobyne, Alexis Jackson, DéArtcy Mangum and Javaris Thomas; twenty-one great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ross-Clayton Funeral Home. FACE MASK REQUIRED. Burial will follow in Eastwood Memorial Gardens.
