My deepest sympathy goes to Jeanette and the Harris family. No doubt you lost a great husband. I lost a great friend. He brought so much humor and joy to the workplace at At&t. You're looking at the monkey and the monkey 🐒 looking at you. Just one of his most humorous saying. Goodbye my friend. Rest in peace. Sandra Standifer.

Larry, my Cousin and Big Brother, your presence and the spirit that you were and are has always lit a way for all of us. Since I was a child, when you came in a room with all that coolness, generosity of spirit and understated swagger, you made it impossible for me not to smile. Visits to you and Jeannette opened us as children to the rising joy of the Black Seventies in the swelling metropolis of Atlanta and its expanding suburbs. We could hardly wait to sneak tips on how to carry ourselves from watching and imitating you. In later years, when ya'll would travel north to join in family rituals, your arrival signaled the official start of anything we had gathered to do. Every student I have been blessed to teach over the last three and a half decades knows you through me, has laughed and gained respect for themselves as Black people (and especially the young men) from stories shared of your example. As you join your parents and mine in a powerful ancestorhood, know that we will raise your name and spirit as we have done when you walked the earth, until we are all reunited in that eternity that is the true reality. I love you forever, Cuz. Then, now and forever, you are The Man. Greg Carr

I'm going to miss you my brother. Me, Larry and John Penn started a group text where we would talk sports all the time. I will miss those conversations about my Saints vs his Falcons for sure. Rest in Peace my brother. Arlester Hemphill.
