Stanley Woodyard, 64, of York, transitioned into eternal life on Friday, March 31, 2023 to be with our Lord and Savior.
He was born in York, a twin son of Emma Lee Woodyard and the late Elmer Carl Woodyard, Sr. He received his early education at Jackson Elementary School in York, PA and then his family moved to Harrisburg, PA where he attended Woodward Elementary and Edison public schools. He was a member of the class of โ76 at John Harris High School in Harrisburg, PA.
Stan the Man & Uncle Stan, as he was affectionately called by his family and friends, was a kind hearted and loving man. He married in his late 30โs and did not have any children. His marriage to Ms. Delores ended after a few years and Stanley remained solo until his passing. You could see Stanley walking across town. He did not bother anyone and he would do anything for everyone. He loved his family and friends dearly and brother Jeffrey who looked out for him to make sure he was okay. He also had a special love for his niece, Lescotia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Carl Woodyard, Sr. and brothers, Michael David Woodyard and Jeffrey Charles Woodyard. He leaves to celebrate his life, a loving mother, the Reverend Emma Lee Woodyard; siblings, Larry C. Woodyard (Rosalind), Wendy Brice (Benjamin), Karen Williams (James), twin sister, Stacy Woodyard (Brian), all of Harrisburg, PA, Elmer C. Woodyard, Jr. of Aurora, CO, Terri Allen of Houston, TX, Deidre McDonald and Eric Woodyard of York, PA and a host of nieces, nephews, many loving cousins, classmates and good friends.
A celebration of Stanleyโs life will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, May 20 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

Stan the man was a kind man and a loving soul. I had the pleasure of meeting Stan through my Husband, Jeff Woodyard. Jeff loved his brother with all of his heart. I will always remember Stan as a kind man who loved his Family and friends with all of his being. He was funny, witty and the ladies loved him! Rest easy, Dear Stan. May God Bless You, your Brother, Jeff and all of your family forever. Love, Robin L. Leibold-Woodyard
