On April 27, 1974, Shaundra Allene Franklin’s birth to her parents, Allen Franklin and Sharon Pope Franklin, was a joyful event in the city of Memphis, Tennessee.
Shaundra literally took the thought, “Be fruitful and multiply” quite seriously. She is survived by all six of her children, S’Ance Lloyd Rice (Marko), Schonn Allen Franklin, Shaari Franklin, Timothy Fondren, Jr., Taiyah Fondren and Tannar Fondren.
She was such a caring and family-oriented lady and was the grandmother of Malani (S’Ance) and Knolin (Shaari). She was looking forward to holding little baby, Malia, who is expected in a few weeks.
Shaun is survived by a loving sister, Stephanie Lynn Franklin, who always hoovered over her more like a second mother than a sister. She also leaves her brother, Darryl Franklin.
In addition, Shaundra had an exceptionally warm bond/relationship with her grandmother, “Dear”, Mrs. Essie Patterson, who she loved so very much. Her special nephew, Glen Jones, and his children held a special place in her heart, as well. She was married to Timothy Fondren, Sr.
Shaun worked in “Accounts Payable” and loved to cook, dress and sing. She was crowned “1992 Miss Hamilton High School”.
She truly believed in God, who gave her much strength. She grew up in New Salem Baptist Church–Fourth Street. She wanted her family to be proud of her, and she did just that.
Shaundra Allene Franklin departed this life on May 3, 2023, at Methodist Hospital Germantown with her family at her side. She will surely be missed by a host of family members and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 12, 2023 4:00pm-6:00pm. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 10:00am both will be held at RS Lewis & Sons 3651 Austin Peay Hwy, Memphis, TN 38126
If this is the same Shaundra that I visited for business with Euramax in 2013, I am floored. I remember her as quiet, very laid back, and very, very nice. She was extremely cool and easy to talk to. Though we only spoke a few times, I still remember her fondly to this day. I am so sorry for your loss.
