Obituary For Mrs. Bernice Thomas Hackley

Bernice Thomas Hackley, 94, a mother of eight, departed this earthly life on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in Tallahassee, FL.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023 at New St. Mary M.B. Church, 6745 Fairbanks Ferry Rd., with burial at Barber Cemetery, both in Havana, FL. Viewing will be from 1 P.M. to 6 P.M. Friday, May 12, 2023 at Strong & Jones Funeral Home.

Survivors include two sons and six daughters, Harold and Larry McIntyre of Havana, FL; Vera McIntyre, Cheryl Hackley, Nichole Murphy (Sylvester), and Natasha Carter (Samuel) of Tallahassee, FL, Cyrilla P. Hackley of Midway, FL; and Jacqueline Murphy of Havana, FL; four sisters, Dorothy T. Williams of Augusta, Georgia; Rosa T. Perry and Nettie T. Black of Havana, FL; and Sarah T. Simmons (Willie C.) of Attapulgus, Georgia; a brother-in-law, Albert Johnson Sr. of Tallahassee, FL; one sister-in-love, Vivian Wiggins of Quincy, FL; and a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers: Lamar Thomas Jr. and Theordore Thomas Sr.; and two sisters, Edith T. Robinson and Gersie T. Johnson.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Many years ago, Reverend & Sister Hackley would bring their children to the Whigham District Union that St Mary was a part. We had so much love for one another. The Addison Family at St Stephen will cherish these memories.
