Minister Barbara Ann Turner-Johnson was born on August 3, 1963 to the late Mr. Willie Lee Turner and Nettie Mae Turner of Quitman, GA. where she was educated in the Brooks County School System.
~A Time To Serve~
Barbara Ann began servanthood and taking care of others as a young adult. She was employed at the Presbyterian Home, Quitman Ga for several years until she transferred as a CNA to Southern Pines, Thomasville, GA. With her genuine heart and love for people, Barbara chose to be a Hospice Care Aid at Big Ben Hospice, Tallahassee, FL. For 13+ years she devoted countless hours and days to her patients and their families until her health began to fail.
Barbara Ann’s Christ life matched her daily life! She gave her life to Christ at an early age and later became a Minister of the Gospel and member of Power & Glory Ministries, Thomasville, GA.
She was a praying woman and loved her family. Everyone that knew her can say “She was the life of the party”. She never met a stranger and she truly loved everyone with the love of Christ. Her sweet spirit and jovial personality made her a true treasure.
~A Time To Be Mourned~
Barbara Ann gained her wings on May 2, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents - Mr. & Mrs. Willie Lee Turner, sisters - Virginia Morrell and Dorothy Houston, brother – Talma Turner, and her grandson – Terrance (TJ) Sirmans, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories husband, Eddie Johnson,Tallahassee, FL, four children: Carswell Turner (Charlynn), LaKeisha Virgil, both of Quitman, GA, Jabaris Little (Brittany), Fort Myers, FL, and Michael Reynolds Jr., Tallahassee, FL. SixSiblings: John Turner (Alma), Willie James Turner, George Turner (Minnie), Gregory Turner, Coy Turner, all of Quitman, GA, Kenneth Davis, of Clearwater, FL, Dorothy Curry (Jimmy), West Palm Beach, FL.. Loretha Arnold, Quitman, Gaand LaShun Holloway (Lee James), Quitman, GA. Grandchildren: Jeremiah Turner, A’Mrion Williams, DamareeGriffin, Ma’Kai Reynolds, Amalee Little, and Miles Little. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the Stevens-McGhee Chapel from 1PM-6PM.
A celebration of life will be Sunday, May 7, 2023 at 3PM at Bethel AME Church with Pastor Solomon Edwards, officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visit this website or our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Facebook page to view a livestream of the celebration.
