Mr. Rafus Hunter, Jr., 78, of Chicago, IL, formerly of Salem, AL, passed Thursday, March 30, 2023 in Chicago, IL.

Funeral service will be held 12 noon EST Friday, April 28, 2023 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. David Stallion, officiating. Burial to follow in St. Paul C.M.E Church Cemetery, Crawford, AL. Visitation is Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 1-5 p.m. EST

Mr. Rafus Hunter, Jr. was born August 20, 1944 to the late Rafus Hunter, Sr. and the late Iola Kimbrough Hunter in Lee County, AL.

Rafus retired from RC Cola in Chicago, IL after 30 years of service. He enjoyed the simple things in life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Faye Stallings Hunter; four sisters, Linda Duffy, Betty Leonard, Mary Wells Hunter and Louis Jean Hunter; five brothers, Charles Kimbrough, James, Hunter, Michael Hunter, Jackie Hunter and Jerry Hunter.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories one son, Jeffery (Alicia) Hunter; two daughters, Stephanie (Anthony) Curry and Anita (D'Lan) Matthews; two sisters, Elsie Miles and Barbara Anderson; nine grandchildren, Demetrius Bellamy, JeQori Hunter, Kennady Hunter, Alexandra Dassau, Dayton Dassau, Latoya Grant, Tresor D'Lan, Journey D'lan and Nichole Drake; 6 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
