Funeral service will be held 12 noon EST Friday, April 7, 2023 at Gaines Chapel A.M.E Church, Phenix City, AL with Rev. Raymond Swafford and Alevelyn Sanders-Swafford, pastors, Bishop Joseph Williams, officiating and Pastor Gerald Williams, eulogist. Interment will take place 1:00 p.m. EST Monday, April 10, 2023 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. Visitation is Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 12-5 p.m. EST.
Bobby was born July 28, 1960, in Russell County, Alabama to the late Eddie Richardson and Catherine Richardson.
Bobby graduated from Chavala High School, in Seale, Alabama Class of 1978. He was a member of Evangel Temple, First Born Church of the Living God.
Bobby retired from the United States Army after 27 years of service to include Active Duty and U. S. Army Reserve and a Truck Driver. He was an over-the-road driver for Dolly Madison, Inc. and Swift Denim for several years. Then, Bobby decided it was time to own and operate his own trucking company, “The Bobby Richardson’s Trucking Company” for years. He ended his driving career with Walmart and Spartan and Nash Company. Bobby received so many outstanding driving awards during his career as an “18 wheeler driver”!
Bobby had one son to precede him in death, Maurice Richardson.
His survivors are his loving wife, Elois; a son, Bobby Richardson, II, Midland, Georgia, Antrell Davis, Columbus, Georgia and one daughter, Courtney Williams, Atlanta, Georgia and two stepdaughters, Vannyce Miles, Columbus, Georgia and Norycee Johnson, Atlanta, Georgia and a grandson; Maurice L. Richardson, Eufaula, Alabama and Ms. Rosie Hill; Mother-in-Law, Columbus, Georgia, brother- in-law; Mark Miles, Atlanta Georgia.
Bobby was the sixth child of ten children five siblings preceded him in death Earnest, Willie, Edna, Daisy, and Larry. There are four remaining siblings, John C. Richardson, Phenix City, Alabama, Darlene Jackson, Kuwait, Robert (Pearl) Richardson of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Catha (Termayne) Midland, Georgia. Bobby has a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews who truly loved him and will miss him dearly. Bobby was loved by so many friends, cousins, military friends, and classmates. We will miss you, Bobby!!!!
