Mr. L D Highsmith, of Clearwater, Florida and formerly of Greenwood entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 31st, 2023 in Clearwater. He was 88 years old.

He leaves a lifetime of love and treasured memories with four sons, Cecil Highsmith, Steven Highsmith both of Marianna, Florida, Luman (Tiffany) Highsmith of Clearwater, Florida and Marcus (Dr. Lattica) of Houston, Texas; daughters, Regina (Richard) Harris of Greenwood, Florida and Selena Gordon of Miami, Florida; son-in-law, Blake Moore of Marianna, Florida; daughter-in-law, Venus Highsmith of Miami Gardens, Florida; and a host of grands, great grands, great-great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A public viewing will be Friday, April 14th from 4-7p.m. at Peoples Funeral Home.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held Saturday, April 15th at 2:00p.m. at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Dwight Cockerham, Sr., Reverend Kevin Williams, Reverend Jesse Douglas and Deacon Sam Gordon, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.

The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to funeral time.
