She was born in Harrisburg, the daughter of the late Joseph and Beulah (Grayson) Manigault. Beulah was a graduate of the former William Penn High School, Carter Cosmetology School and Ebony School of Beauty Culture, was an employee of Commonwealth of PA Department of Transportation (PENNDOT) from where she retired as a Supervisor.
She was a member of Bethel A. M. E. Church and in the community, was a member of Esther Chapter #1 Order of the Eastern Star, where she was Past Worthy Matron, a member of Himyar Temple #97 and Unity Temple #61 I. B. P. O. E. of W.; past member of Antler Guards #61, Past President of the Ladies’ Auxillary of American Legion Ephraim Slaughter Post #733 where she presently served as Chaplain and a member of the Top Social Club.
In addition to her parents, Beulah was preceded in death by six of her siblings, John Joseph Manigault, Leonard Manigault, Viola E. Milburn, Geraldine Warden, William T. Logan and George Jackson. She leaves to celebrate her life, her sons, Dwayne Steven and Joseph Tyrone Bass; her sister, Ora Manigault; her brother, George Manigault; her grandson, Tyrone Bass; her four great- grandchildren, Faith Bass, Christopher Bass, Toryn Bass and Tyrese Thomas; her sisters-in-love, Mary Erving and Elizabeth Bass; her best friends, Mary Movis Goodson and Patty Ann Roebuck and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Beulah’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 4 in the Sanctuary of her church, 1721 N. 5th St, Harrisburg, with viewing from 9:00 until 11:00 am and burial in William Howard Day Cemetery.
