Funeral service will be held 11:30 a.m. EST, Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Mt. Mariah Baptist Church, Phenix City, AL with Pastor W.G. Perkins, officiating and Rev. Jeffrey J. Dancy, Sr., eulogist. Interment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL.
Mrs. Alice Lee Taylor was born on January 30, 1925 to the late Fletcher Lindsey and Catherine Alexander in Russell County. She accepted Jesus Christ, our savior at an early age at Mt. Mariah Baptist Church. She married the late Benjamin Taylor and traveled the United States with him. During that time, she worked in homes caring for families and their children and upon retiring she became a foster parent. Her hobbies turned into skill sets were sewing and baking. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Benjamin Taylor and her son, Phillip Jackson, Sr.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her three children, her loving daughter Judith Mae Sharpe; two sons, Ralph Soul Jackson and Albert Soul Jackson all from Phenix City, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Patricia Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia, Contestsa Sharpe of Columbus, Georgia, Courtney Sharpe of Phenix City, Alabama, Phillip (Jeannie) Jackson, Jr. of Florida, Monica Jackson, Curtis Jackson, and Felicia Coppins all of Columbus Georgia; 14 Great Grandchildren, Kendarius Howard, Amarkion Sharpe, Aniyah Johnson, Rodney Johnson, Jamaury Sharpe, Sanai Ross, Breanna Jackson, Amina Jackson, Travon Jackson, Trenton Jackson, No’EllE Gardner, Dewayne Gardner, Cordarrell Coppins and Jaylen Coppins; two nieces; Vera Harris and Rita Harris (deceased), five nephews, Wendell Harris, Walter Harris, Fletcher Hewell (deceased), Joe Joe Benson (deceased), Litton Harris (deceased) and a host of great-great grandchildren, great nieces, great nephews, family and friends.
