She was a graduate of Dunedin High School, Class of 1975 and attended St. Petersburg Junior College. Brenda was employed for Square D Company, retiring in 1998.
She was also employed for Florida Housing Corporation in Tallahassee (2011) and Pasco County Schools (2019).
Brenda’s religious affiliation included New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Ray of Hope United Methodist Church, Tallahassee, Florida, Community of Faith, Tallahassee, Florida, where she served as Executive Secretary for both churches and Fresh Fire Worship Center, Tallahassee, Florida. Her community service included Habitat for Humanities home building (Pasco County), “Free Market” for Women’s Shelter (Tallahassee), Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk and coordinator of Christian-Based Weekend for Women of Community of Faith Church.
Brenda established “Sistahs” mentoring weekends for young women lasting over 20 successful years and was a continuous supporter of St. Jude’s Hospital for Children and Shriners Children’s Hospital. She also provided mentoring and inspirational teachings for children for Pasco County’s Anclote Elementary School.
Brenda R. Payne-Goodloe departed this life on Monday, March 20, 2023, at Gulfside Hospice, New Port Richey, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hardee Payne and Lillie Mae Green-Payne and sister, Valerie PayneBivins.
She leaves to cherish her memories… Her husband of 37 years: James E. Goodloe; Daughter: Britt'ny S. Shaw; Stepson: Christopher L. Goodloe; Brother: Randolph Payne of Boston, MA; Sisters: Rhonda Cole (Love), Mattie Pitts, Chatranda Payne, all of Clearwater, FL, Debra Robinson (Felton) of Hudson, FL and Marilyn Evans of Houston, TX; Brothers-in-law: Alvin Goodloe (Rose) and Chris Bivins; Sister-in-law: Ruth McHugh; And a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
