Obituary For Robert Verdell, Sr.

Robert Verdell, Sr. was born to the late Nelson and Mary Lee Verdell. He passed away peacefully at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine on Wednesday, March 23, 2023. He was a graduate of Walter E. Harris High School. He worked at Georgia Pacific and was a manager for Joy Food Stores Inc. Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Willie Mae Verdell. He leaves to mourn 5 children: Robert Verdell Jr. (Marietta) Palm Coast; Tranesha Hubert (Robert Ben) St. Augustine; Shriley Jackson (Brian) Hastings; Tykesa Brinson (Terrance) Ocala; Timothy Verdell, Sr. (Felicia) St. Augustine; brother, Horace Verdell (Lois) St. Augustine; brothers in law, Henry Simon (Shirley) Palm Coast; James Spivey (Kelly) Rochester, New York; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, classmates, and friends. The Verdell family will receive friends and the community 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, at the Felix Coleman Memorial Chapel. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, April 8, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 201 Mission Rd, Palatka, FL It's open to the public. Verdell will be dearly missed by me. He was a true confidant and wonderful to talk to. I am so grateful I was able to speak to him days before his passing. We should all know Verdell is resting in peace with his wife and family, never having to endure the suffering of this world again. Your friend, Mildred Cox Brown Our W. E.
