Ms Constance I was saddened when I first heard of Ms Jeans passing, but soon I found joy when I thought of her life. Ms Jean was a true missionary, I first met Ms Jean while I was in high school and we attended the same church. The Church of the Open Door--Baptist. Under Rev George Dudley, Ms Jean would come and pick my aunt (Joan W King) up for choir rehearsal. If you needed a ride to church, grocery store and the doctors office. Ms Jean didnt mind taking you and she didnt mind telling you about the goodness of Jesus. She was a great woman of God. Praying for your peace and comfort during this time. Please know God is Abel to carry you thru. Many blessings to you and your family. Shoan and Ray Whitley

Mrs. Whitley will certainly be missed! She always had the biggest smile every time I would see her- whether at church or the Wright Center Banquets. She was a dedicated member of the Church of the Open Door Baptist for many years. She never failed to ask me about my family, especially my son. She always sent her best wishes each time we met. We will continue to lift the family up in prayer knowing that though she is absent from the body, she is present with the Lord! Love to each of you!β€οΈ Pastor Carl and Lou Jones-Hill

This is a hard one for me. I have so many fond memories of you and Ma (Minnie Cobb) at 1042. These memories bring a smile during a time when my heart is so heavy. While remembering those late night sweet treats you would share, the TBN tv watching, the singing of gospel hymns and watching the two of you sleep and the tv watching you both, a smile peeks through as the tears flow knowing that you are no longer with us. You were a true friend to my Ma. She is rejoicing as you have joined her and you can be neighbors in heaven. RIP Mrs. Jean. β€οΈ you! Angela Ward
