Obituary For Michael Wayne Hairston

On Monday, March 13, 2023, Michael Wayne Hairston transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at Ascensional Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan. He was Born on September 27, 1954, in Leaksville, NC to the late Elder William Oliver Hairston, and the late Lois Dorothy Hairston.

Michael confessed Christ at an early age. Michael was educated in Pittsylvania County Public School Systems. He was previously employed at Pannill Knitting Company of Martinsville, VA as a Dye Tub Operator. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by two sister, Landy Lois Hairston, and Jerelene Hairston; one brother, Larry Oliver Hairston; and a granddaughter, Na’Jada Joyce.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Marie H. Hairston of Martinsville, VA; three daughters, Amaka Holland, and Markeyta Stubblefield (Johnny) both of Martinsville, VA, and Tilphanie Joyce of Axton, VA; three sisters, Letisha Thompson of Southfield, MI, Gaynelle Cabiness, and Nancy Cooper both of Detroit, MI; one brother, Elder Jeffrey Hairston of Danville, VA; adopted sisters, Sherlene Hairston of Detroit, MI, Lauren Hairston, Aiesha Hairston, Princess Hairston, and Denita Martin Fitzgerald (Mark) all of Danville, VA; adopted brothers, Robert Hairston, Reco Hairston, Terrance Hairston, and Nelson Hairston all of Danville, VA; four grandchildren, MaKyah Hairston, JaVonna Stubblefield, Amia Holland, and Zaria Stubblefield; and a host of other relatives, and friends.

A visitation service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Piney Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 753 Grays Park Rd., Danville, VA. A public viewing will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA, between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home of his daughter, and son-in-law, Markeyta and Johnny Stubblefield, 1014 Chalmers St., Martinsville.
