Obituary For Annie Lee Lias

Mrs. Annie Lee Lias, 106, of Pittsview, AL passed Sunday, March 12, 2023 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Pittsview, AL, Pastor Robert Toney, pastor and Dr. Ko'Derris Cowan, Sr., eulogist. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is Friday, March 24, 2023 from 1-5 p.m. EST.

Annie Lee was born on February 17, 1917 to the late Estella Edmonds and Will Edmonds. She was born and raised in Russell County, AL. She attended school in Glenville, AL. An avid farmer, she kept 70 acres of land. She was a God fearing woman who sang in the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church choir and Benevolent Grove Baptist Church choir for 70 years!

She married the love of her life, Mitchell Lias. Together, they raised 10 children, Franklin D. Lias [deceased], Reverend Eddie β€œLC" [deceased] (Alice) of Pittsview, AL) Lias, Sarah Lee Lias [deceased], Annie Mae [deceased] (Elijah,[deceased]) Person, Joseph (Nina Mae) Lise of Phenix City, AL, Lillie Pearl (Willie) Tarver of Buffalo, NY; Austin [deceased] (Annie Bell β€œDella”,[deceased]) Lias, Mitchell [deceased] (Joanne) Lias of Pittsview, AL), Annie Lee (Albert, [deceased]) Jackson of Rochester, NY, and Willie Lias of St. Petersburgh, FL. She was preceded in death by her four siblings, Mattie Bailey, Jimmy Lee Edmonds, Willie Edmonds, and Estella Jackson. She is survived by a host of grands, great grands, great great grands, great great great grands, and other relatives and friends.

Annie Lee was the strong matriarch whose wisdom touched many lives. She always looked forward to gatherings with family and friends; and was loved by everybody she encountered. She was always willing to give a helping hand, attending and the Hurtsboro Senior Center until she was 100 years old!
