Lola R. Salter was born on November 22, 1943 in Uvalda, Ga to the late Samuel McAuthur and Vandella Cooper. She relocated to Jacksonville Fl attended schools in Duval County. She met and was married to Tommie Salter for 52yrs.
She was employed at Annie R. Morgan Elementary School where she retired from. Lola joined Mt Siani Missionary Baptist Church in 1969 where she served as a usher and was a faithful member to her church until she could no longer attend due to her health. She was known for her beautiful smile, loving spirit and always willing to help anyone in need.
Lola is preceded in death by her parents , Vandella Cooper, Samuel McAuthur, son, Stevie A. Salter, brother , Willie Johnson . She is survived by her husband, Tommie Salter, daughters; Angela Salter James ( Ronnie ), Trina L Salter , ( fiancรฉ Andre ), bonus daughter , Sylvia Newman ( Kelvin) sisters , Sweetie Vickers, Gloria Coon , brother, Wallace McAuthur , sister-in-law , Rose Salter, grandchildren; LaCordya Cooper, Jamar Cooper, Tommie Cooper, Rebecca James, RJ James, Denver James, Latorrea Smith, Monquell Williams, Yahshanti Byers, Kenneth Salter, Canna Harris, Ciarra, Breon , Jasmine , Shaakera Thomas, Ernest Cooks ( Nika) . Many great -grandchildren , nieces , nephews, cousins and a special sister friend, Corrine Scott.
Funeral Service will be held on March 18, 2023 at 2PM at Mt. Siani Missionary Baptist Church, 2036 Silver Street. Mrs. Salter's remains will rest for visitation of family and friends on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 3-8PM at the MIXON TOWN CHAPEL of Q. L. Douglas Funeral Home, 2403 Edison Avenue.
