Obituary For Joseph D. Webb Sr.

Joseph Douglass Webb Sr., 75, of Spartanburg, South Carolina went home to be with the Lord on March 7, 2023 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Joseph was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina on March 20, 1947 to the late Floyd James and Sarah (Artisan) Webb.

He was a member of Foster Chapel Baptist Church where he served on the Usher and Benevolent Ministry. Joseph was also a member of the Roebuck Sympathy Club.

Mr. Webb was a Veteran of the United States Army after serving twenty-three years. He retired from Southern Railroad as an Engineer where he worked for thirty years.

He was preceded in death by: four brothers, Leonard Webb, John β€œJack” Webb, Horace β€œSonny” Webb, and Lawrence Webb, Sr.; and two sisters, Margaree Canty and Lillian Young.

He leaves to cherish fonda and loving memories: his loving wife of 54 years, Judy Foster Webb; daughter, Helena Renee Cheeks, of Stafford, VA; three sons, Joseph Brandon (Michelle) of Atlanta, GA, Joseph Webb, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC, Jaimar Wallace of Fort Walton Beach, FL; brother, Roosevelt Webb of Spartanburg, SC; two sisters,Sarah Elizabeth Franks of Myrtle Beach, SC and Catherine Webb of Charlotte, NC; brother-in-law, Ronald Foster of Spartanburg, SC; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren;1 great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Service will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Foster Chapel Baptist Church, Roebuck, SC. Burial will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens, Roebuck, SC.
