Obituary For Mary Beverly Taylor

OPELOUSAS - Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church, 232 Main Street, Arnaudville, LA for Mrs. Mary Beverly Taylor, 89, who entered eternal rest on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville, LA. Interment will be at Garden of Memory Cemetery, Opelousas, LA.

Father Gregory P. Cormier, Pastor of St. Rose of Lima and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, LA, will be officiating the funeral service.

Mrs. Taylor leaves to cherish loving memories to her son, Patrick Taylor; a bonus son, Paul Roberts; a sister, Sophie Beverly Lazard of Houston, TX; a brother John Earl Beverly of Opelousas, LA; sisters-in-law, Rose Lee Taylor Douglas of Baton Rouge, LA and Earline Taylor Davis of Houston, TX; brothers-in-law, Benjamin Taylor and Robert Chavis both of Houston, TX; a special niece and nephew, Christine and Jonathan Cluse of Arnaudville, LA, who devoted so much attention to her needs over the years; 4 grandchildren, Patrick Benjamin, special granddaughter Tanya Taylor (Andre), Dravon and Desmond Taylor, 8 great grandchildren; a goddaughter, Joyce Reed and a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mrs. Taylor has been reunited with her departed loved ones, her husband, Charley Taylor; parents, Lugenia Fontenot Beverly and Joseph Beverly, Sr.; sisters, Madeline Beverly Robinson, Josephine Beverly Shakesnider and Betty Jean Beverly Chavis; brothers, Paul Beverly, Joseph Beverly, Jr. and Charles Beverly; mother-in-law, Ella Moore Taylor, father-in-law, Wash Taylor; sisters-in-law, Lee Audrey Savoy Beverly, Adeline Taylor Beverly, Madeline Taylor Joubert, Mary Lee Taylor Young; brothers-in-law, Charles Robinson, Matthew Taylor, Frank Taylor, John Taylor; aunts, Louise Beverly Lavergne, Alice Beverly Guillory, Ezola Beverly, Helen Beverly Walker, Rita Fontenot Singleton, Julia Fontenot Wheeler, Lucy Fontenot, Sophia Fontenot; uncles, William Dennis Lavergne, Sr., Ernest Guillory, Charles G. Walker, Isaac Beverly, Louis Beverly, Easton Singleton, Charles Fontenot, George Fontenot, Joseph Marshall Fontenot, Lee Martin Fontenot and Frank Fontenot; nephews, James Anthony Roberts, Jermaine Roberts, Hubert Jerry, Bruce Joubert, Kurt Beverly, Carl Beverly and a niece, Sandra Joubert Williams.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. including a rosary at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Kirk Elliott and the staff of J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home for becoming her family and going “above and beyond” to make Mrs. Taylor’s stay welcoming and comfortable.
