Early Tuesday morning God visited Vanessa Siler Moore and took her home. Vanessa was the daughter of John Higgie Siler and Lorina Goldston Siler Brooks (both deceased). She was also preceded in death by one sister, Inez Siler Luck. Vanessa was born January 17, 1954.
She joined Oakland Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She was raised in Ramseur by her beloved grandmother Goldie Goldston (deceased) and Aunt Pattie Gales. Vanessa retired from North Carolina A&T State University in 2022.
Remaining to cherish her memories are her husband, Adlai Stevenson Moore of Ramseur, NC; her two children, Tina Alvester Moore and Randall Steve (Chelsey) Moore both of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, Tylen, Olivia, Ava, Eli, and Issac; Vanessa leaves behind three devoted sisters, Loretta Tinnin of Ramseur, NC; Belinda (Edward) Garner of Graham NC; and Clara (Dean) Riviere of Hopewell Jct., New York; two cousins who are like siblings to her, Julia (Eddie) Williams; and James Nathan (Gayle) Gales; Dear to Vanessa’s heart were her aunts, Cora Caveness of Ramseur, and Ava Siler of Coleridge; she shared laughter and love with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, friends and in-laws; Last, but certainly not least, she also enjoyed many, many great times with life-time friends, Shelby Marley Walden and Barbara Davis.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Oakland McCary Cemetery, Ramseur, NC.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

Vanessa Aka Dale was always full of laughter and the life of the party. I remember Dale down at Goldie Goldston's house along with most of her sister's sitting on the couch in the front room and I was only a child at the time.
