She retired from The University of Tennessee in 2012 after 19 years of service. Cathy lived a simple life after her retirement, filled with the love of her family, friends, and church. She especially enjoyed summer trips to Myrtle Beach with her family.
Cathy is preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Zollie Worthen; sister, Audrey Henry; aunts, Vivian Ford & Rhea Crawford. Her survivors include son, Anthony Worthen; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle & Steven Justus Sr; sisters, Willenstine Arms of Los Angeles, CA, Joyce &Alan Jones; grandchildren, Hakeem Worthen, Tiaeshia Kelso, Brooklyn Justus, Zareeah Justus, Jadyn Justus, Steven Justus Jr; great-grandchildren; Isaiah Worthen &Bronx Justus; nephews and niece, Darryl, Derrick, and Andrea Arms all of California; special friend Maxine Riley; and all other family and friends too numerous to mention. Special thanks to Dr. Ashok Ghardari and Dr. Carla Gillespie for their excellent care & to Fern Street Missionary Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 11-11:30 a.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 11:30 at the Fern St. Missionary Baptist Church with Minister William J. Riddle officiating. The final resting place will be at the Mt. Olive Cemetery immediately following the service. A dove release will conclude.
