James "Semaj" Gibson, 42, of Utica, MS was born July 19, 1980 to Jimmie Kelker and Jacqueline Gibson Kelker.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 12:00 noon, Welcome M.B. Church, 2843 Old Adams Station Road, Utica, MS 39175 with burial in Welcome Church Cemetery, 2843 Old Adams Station Road, Utica, MS 39175.

James (Semaj) Willis Gibson was born to Jimmie S. & Jacqueline G. Kelker on July 19, 1980 in Hinds County, Mississippi.

James joined the Welcome MB Church (1st & 3rd Sundays) in Utica, MS at an early age. He remained a faithful member until his sudden passing. When James was not in attendance at his home church you he was attending Alabaster Church of God In Christ (2nd & 4th Sundays) in Jackson, MS.

He was educated in Hinds County Public Schools, Hinds County AHS, Hinds Community College Utica Campus in Utica, MS, Holmes Community College, Goodman, MS and a graduate of CRW Truck Driving Training School.

James was employed as a Crew Member for Hinds County Public Works and was going to work as a Trucker for Jordan Carriers in Natchez, MS. He was a Music Artist. His stage name Semaj DA Trappa (James Jones).

Preceded him in death are his grandparents; Mary Helen Gibson, Willie Cleveland Turner, Paul Young; uncles and aunt Perry Gibson, Michael G. Kelker, Willie B. Turner.

James finished his race on earth Friday night, February 17, 2023 in Jackson, MS.
