Obituary For Christopher Jerrod Woods, Sr.

Christopher Jerrod Woods, 36, of Flowood, MS was born February 9, 1987 to Cleotis Woods and Petril Rogers Woods.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m., Greater St. James M.B. Church, 1301 Jones Avenue, Jackson, MS 39203 with burial in Garden Memorial Park, 8001 Highway 49, Jackson, MS 39209.

Christopher Jerrod Woods Sr. was born February 9, 1987 to Cleotis and Petril Woods. As a child, Christopher was full of life and embraced it as he saw fit. He loved mysteries, solving puzzles, and hanging with his friends and family. He attended and received Christ at an early age as his personal Savior at St. James M.B Church under the pastorship of the late Rev. Charles Knight. Christopher participated in various ministries throughout the church such as the choir, Sunday school, and other activities. He attended Jim Hill High School, where he was a leader in the marching band under Director Charles Bradley. Christopher always loved music and was very creative in all that he did. He went on to attend JSU, where he was also active in multiple organizations. Throughout the years, Christopher was diligent in working hard to provide for his family. As an aspiring entrepreneur, he was a local musician and graduated from the Mississippi Barber Academy. He made it a goal to be his own person and was unique in his own way, standing out amongst the crowd and operating in excellence. He had a light that was awesome in his own existence. From his smile and laughter to his big heart, Christopher was a family oriented person, one of the most valued characters that he possessed. He loved his family dearly, especially his children. Inevitably, God called his child home the morning of Friday February 17, 2023. Though he is in the arms of our Heavenly Father, he will truly be missed, on this side of heaven.

Christopher is proceeded in death by his great grandparents Darlene W.B Jenkins and James S. Witherspoon, and niece, Delia Mari Stephens. He leaves to carry out his legacy a son, Christopher Jerrod Woods Jr., Krishyia Jeshae Woods (daughter), Cleotis Woods (father), Petril Woods (mother), sister, Natalie Woods-Stephens (Chad), Delia Shumate (grandmother), Doris W Rogers (grandmother),his grandfather, Henry Jenkins, Sr., (Earline) and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and other family.

So many memories I could share. From our first day at Jim Hill to the last day we talked. I just knew you'd get well. I prayed for you to get well.
