Obituary For Jimmy Christian

MR. JIMMY CHRISTIAN was born May 8, 1956, in Brooks County, Georgia, to the late Betty Turner and Sam Christian. He departed this life on January 26, 2023.

He received his education in the Brooks County Public School system. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, was baptized, and spent his later years as a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church. He was a dedicated worker at Beech Island for over 25 years before his retirement in 1999. He was an active member of the Brothers Club before his health began to decline.

He married his childhood sweetheart, the late Bonita Christian, and to this union, two loving daughters, Tasha Mitchell (Dwight) and Lameshia Newsome (Alfred) were born.

He was preceded in death by his loving siblings, Sam Christian, Janice Mitchell, and Herbert Nesmith.

He leaves to cherish his memories: five brothers, John Christian of Quitman, GA, Gary Christian (Stephanie) of Quitman, GA, Terrance Christian (Rebecca) of Colorado Springs, CO, Robby Christian (Tawanna) of Quitman, GA, Bobby Christian of Quitman, GA; eight loving grandchildren, Kanesha Mitchell of Savannah, GA, Breyawna Holmes (Billy) of Valdosta, GA, Sammie Brinson of Savannah, GA, Michael Mitchell of Savannah, GA, Myesha Mitchell of Statesboro, GA, Alfred Arnold, Armanti Arnold, and Amarion Arnold, all of Valdosta, GA; great grandchildren, Bryson Holmes and Messiah Mitchell, a lifelong friend, Robert "Snake" Neloms; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, February 3, 2023 at the Stevens-McGhee chapel from 5PM-7PM.

A celebration of life will be Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 3PM at Calvary Christian Center with Rev. Floyd Demps, officiating. Burial will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Dixie, GA.
